I would like to say how pleased I have been with my personal and business relationship with ERM Media. When I heard about ERM's new CD series "Masterworks of the New Era" I knew it would be something quite extraordinary and I wanted to be part of it. Throughout this process ERM Media has been very helpful in communicating and promptly answering all questions. The recording on which I have a composition(Vol 2) was produced in an extremely professional manner. ERM is very good about sending their CDs out to radio stations and since Volume 2 was released it has received a tremendous amount of radio play-even by my local classical radio station here in San Francisco who rarely air contemporary music. In addition to all of the above ERM is fair about sending out mechanical royalties (unlike many other record companies which which I have been involved) and even has acted as an intermediary between the recording orchestra and myself in arranging future performances of my piece. I highly recommend ERM Media as an excellent recording company.
Nancy Bloomer Deussen, Composer - Volume Two
The fourth volume showcasing striking contemporary classical works by selected living composers, "Masterworks of the New Era" makes a priority of compiling exceptionally engaging complementary pieces. This volume appeals to the academic scholar as well as a dabbler in new music precisely because there is a consistent, certain accessibility to the works- the ability to follow harmonically and thematically the composers' intent and the pieces' development is well established without comprimising the adventurous and bold spirit built into the trends of contemporary composition. While many of these pieces elude a key center, there is a real tangible, comprehendible progression within the works so that while functional harmony may not be the structure upon which these works are moving, there is an apparent meaning and vision to the music, a quality which engrosses the listener, no matter how tangential or variable the progressions may be. Each one of these works is notably compelling with vivid, striking orchestration and imaginative evolution. Stated simply, this is an extraordinary compilation.

My experience in working with Robert Winstin and the ERM.Media staff has been wonderful. Their recording of my work, Snowdrift, was sensitively realized and the performance, first-rate. The sound engineering emphasized a very vibrant sound quality which makes for an engaging sonic experience. All the solo passages in the orchestra are expressively shaped and balanced. Within a few of months of release, the recording had been broadcast twice across Canada on two different National CBC programs and it is likely that there were other broadcasts that I did not hear about. I recently had a work premiered by the Lansing Symphony in MIchigan and after the concert, I left them a copy of the Snowdrift CD. Their immediate response was to keep Snowdrift high on their list of works to consider programming in the next few years. I am seriously considering submitting another composition to ERM.Media in the future.

"How many CD's have you listened to? Now take that number and divide it by the number of CD's you've listened to AND thought worthy of your attention. Pretty small number, huh? Well, Robert Ian Winstin's new "Masterworks of the New Era" is undoubtedly worth a listen, or two, or ... well, I'm on my fifth go-round! If you are like me you will take everything else out of your CD changer and put in these two "Masterworks" discs - what a fantastic set!"

"I just wanted to let you know that I just received my copy of "Masterworks of the New Era" and I am delighted with the recording of my composition "Than". Your performance is terrific, a beautiful job! My congratulations to you and the orchestra. Thank you! Everything about the project turned out beautifully: the CD looks great and it SOUNDS great. I look forward to future volumes in this remarkable series!"
